Est 1989

Born and raised in Belgium I grew up in a home where food was always good, plentiful and traditional. Food was directly connected to happy moments, sharing and connecting. I started styling my plate as a 6 year old. Luckily, my parents didn’t mind me playing with food (as long as I ate it).

For the love of food

Food found a way to my heart in those early days of my life. Connecting with family over a cake, celebrating togetherness at the Christmas dining table, my grandfather baking us pancakes - these are the best memories of my childhood. Years later, growing my own radishes on my rooftop garden while studying photography at Sint-Lucas School or Arts Brussels, my camera and love for food clicked. My adoration for food has grown ever since. For years, I’ve spent endless Sundays in the kitchen. Here, I discovered all kinds of food, including vegan dishes. I felt connected to the vegan cuisine from the start. It’s like falling in love - sometimes you just know.

Waking up to food reality

As I had the opportunity to learn more about the impact of food on our climate, environment and animal suffering. I could no longer resist the call of the incredibly delicious vegan diet. I am imperfectly, but diligently, pursuing a better world with the everyday choices I make and over the years my diet has gradually changed.   As my diet changed a seed grew in me to share this wonderful vegan food. Over the years, this seed has bloomed into my business of  food photography, styling, teaching, and recipe development.

January 2020

In january 2020, I opened my new photography studio and space for vegan cooking workshops, Ruumi, in Sint-Pietersplein Gent.  It’s where the food photography magic happens and the love for vegan food is shared through cooking workshops I teach.

Today
